SPB does a fabulous job to the music of Yuvan Shankar Raja. I love listening to SPB remotely. Couple of times I have seen him in live performances, I have been deeply unhappy! He lectures too much and sometimes I want to get up and say "I paid all this money to just listen to you sing! Shut Up!" Regardless, I love to hear the man sing. He is a genius. The movie Nanda with Surya is also a great movie.

"Is this the first snow? The first rain? It is falling in my heart and my life is feeling the wetness as a result. I am experiencing a relationship that I didn't quite understand before and experiencing the happiness that I had been oblivious to. You are the reason for these changes".

"You are hiding something in your heart, C'mon and tell me what it is. You crossed the waters to come here and I can see the secrets that you are holding off in your eyes".

"I lost heart somewhere along the way, and now, I found it in your eyes. So far, I was addressless, but I found it in your beautiful smile. I live in your breath!"

skipping the next paragraph....

"My steps, they follow yours and stop. My nights, they are yearning for the morning to look at your face. You have changed the nights and days; you have poured yourself into me; I submerged in your eyes".

Please check out the song in YouTube below.

Siragugal vanthatu - Sarvam;

You must listen and see the song on YouTube (link provided below). What a great song! I have not been able to get the tune out of my system for the past three days. Yuvan Shankar Raja has done a tremendous job and Javed Ali and Madhushree have sung reasonably well. My complaint about the non-Tamils killing the lyrics continue. Half of what Madhushree (Bengali, apparently) is saying is simply cannot be heard! I have marked the guesses with a (*)

"Wings arrived so I could fly some place; Nights ended slowly in my eyes; My thoughts are yearning to see you". "My dreams are overflowing, where do I collect them? Mountains come together so I can go in (Weird and I have no idea what this means)..."

"In search of you, this yearning, this path, this travel all became the words I am uttering now".

As I am going through this, I am planning to dump futher translation because it won't do justice to the beauty of lyrics. Definitely a case of "lost in translation". If you don't understand Tamil, just sit back and enjoy the beautiful tune, fantastic picturization and Trisha!

Pesugiren Pesugiren - Saththam Podathey

One of those typical Yuvan Shankar Raja Tunes... very catchy. And Neha Bhasin has done a fantastic job singing it. I don't think she is a tamilian, but you wouldn't be able to tell the way the words are pronounced. This is a really nice movie also. I recommend that you see it. We are a big favorite of Prithiviraj.

The lyrics are so simple, yet so powerful. I think this is sort of talking indirectly to a guy who may be agonizing over his lover and whether to continue the relationship.

The woman who is singing is saying "I am speaking your heart... When there is a hurricane (in your heart), I will extend flowers (to make you feel calm)". "No matter what you lose, don't lose your heart... It is as restless as the waves of ocean, is it because it is the heart?"

These are simply so well done... "There are no trees for those migratory birds crossing oceans to rest. But they don't bother and cross continents." I sort of get the next line "By adding a few more dots to the full stop, you can convert the end to be a new start". "Just as there are no mountains without curves, there is no heart without heartbreaks".

I will not bother with the second stanza because the simple beauty of the lyrics is getting lost in translation because of the indirect and apparently disconencted statements about the topic being discussed... You can hear this at Music India Online by clicking here.

You can alse enjoy upto the first stanza at Youtube:
